Empowering communities for Climate Action

Mission: Empowering West London communities to take bold climate action while reducing poverty and inequality.
Eco Action West London is the environmental arm of Action West London, dedicated to fostering a greener future for communities across the region. We work with local residents and businesses to combat climate change through practical, impactful projects. Our initiatives are designed to promote a circular economy by championing the principles of reducing, reusing, and recycling.
We believe that climate action and community empowerment go hand-in-hand. That’s why our programs not only focus on environmental sustainability but also on helping people into education and employment, ensuring a just transition to a low-carbon economy. Through workshops, community events, and partnerships, we aim to inspire a collective commitment to a healthier, more sustainable West London for everyone.
The initial cornerstone of our work was the Reduce and Recycle Hub at Acton Market. This popular, award-winning project, funded by the National Lottery, operated on the first Saturday of every month. It served as a vital community resource where local residents could drop off hard-to-recycle items like small electrical appliances and clothing for reuse and recycling. The hub also hosted workshops and advice stalls from partners, such as the Ealing Repair Café, which taught people how to mend and extend the life of their clothes, and Dr Bike, which offered free bicycle checks.
Expanding Our Impact: New Projects & Partnerships
Building on the success of our existing initiatives, we are excited to introduce new projects focused on practical repair and skill-building. These new opportunities will include sessions on electrical fixing, empowering unemployed west London residents to not only mend small appliances and divert more valuable resources from landfills, but gain professional qualifications in fixing.

To make these projects a success, we are actively seeking new partners. We invite local businesses, community groups, and individuals who share our commitment to sustainability to collaborate with us on future projects. By working together, we can amplify our collective impact and build a more resilient West London.
